Congratulations to BADGER Lab PhD Graduate Kieran Nichols

Congratulations to Dr. Kieran Nichols, who completed his Ph.D. this summer! Kieran’s Dissertation is titled Development and Application of Semi-Active Prosthetic Foot-Ankle Systems. Kieran pushed our Two-Axis ‘Daptable Ankle (TADA) project ahead with lots of work on the control algorithms and pilot testing, and also published work on our Variable-Stiffness Foot in  human testing and, in collaboration with Mike Hahn’s group at U. Oregon, in simulation; and he contributed to our recent paper on the future of wearable sensing. He did a victory lap to show his recent work at the International Society of Biomechanics meeting in Fukuoka, Japan. Congratulations, Kieran!

Kieran is now looking for a career in Biomechanics, Robotics, Mechatronics, and/or Embedded Systems. Find him on LinkedIn and at his personal website, and read his own announcement here!
