Prof. Adamczyk received a grant from the US Department of Defense (W81XWH-19-2-0024) to study how different prosthetic feet and different orthotic solutions affect real-world movement. The project will deploy advanced suites of wearable movement sensors mounted on the prosthesis/orthosis, and use the frequent-paths analysis recently published by BADGER grad Weixin Wang, M.S. to determine how the different devices change characteristics such as stride length, socket load, and variability. Data will be collected at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
