Congratulations to past BADGER Lab member Sofya Akhetova for publishing a paper on adaptable real-time detection of initial contact and toe-off events from IMU data in walking. Sofya’s paper, planned and executed while she was an undergraduate lab assistant, improves over other methods by its extreme accuracy, ability to predict events before they happen, and adaptability to multiple speeds. Congratulations, Sofya!
Sofya is now a graduate student at the University of Washington.
