Ahmed is a robotics researcher in the BADGER lab, focusing on the energetics of human and robot locomotion by developing a rimless-wheel walking robot. His research interests encompass dynamics modeling, controls, and robotics.
Prior to joining UW-Madison in Fall 2024, Ahmed gained valuable industry experience. He served as a Senior Design Automation Engineer at an industrial fan manufacturer, where he implemented automated mechanical CAD solutions. Previously, he contributed to the development of an automated peritoneal dialysis machine at a startup, resulting in a patent for a device that controls fluid flow within the machine.
Ahmed earned his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad, Pakistan, in 2019.
Outside of research, Ahmed enjoys a diverse range of hobbies, including knitting, reading, and generally walking around the city.
